Who’s agenda are you following?

My day is all about my agenda.  I get up, look at my calendar and forge through the day.  This is how I role.  I am productive and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.  Joshua had a different way…

“At this. Joshua fell with his face to the ground, ‘I am at your command, what do you want your servant to do?'” (Josh 5-6)     Joshua had just taken over the helm for Moses.  He listened to God and cirumcised all of the Isrealites.  Imediately after this he says, “What’s next Lord?”  If only that could be my posture in life, to fall on my face, recognize you as master, and say, “What do you want me to do?”  May this become my question Lord.  So often my question is, “What is best for me?  What is the least risky thing I can do here?  How can I best play it safe?”  The reason Joshua experienced such a rich life and won many of the battles that came his way is becuase he was in sink with the Lord.  He desired His agenda above his own.  That type of thinking leads to life.

Prayer:  Lord, as I try to accomplish my agenda today, help me to surrender and respond with Joshua’s question.  Amen
