This is the last of three posts on the success of Jesus…
The last big measure of success might be participation. “I do only that which I see my Father doing.” (Jn 5:19)
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (Jn 15)
Everything in me wants to do something spectacular, to have a great impact and come back and “report” to God that I did a good job. That’s not success! Success is participation with the God is what He is already doing in another person. It’s joining God in his work. It’s walking with God and helping others walk with God.
To sum up success in one word for Jesus: abide. As we seek to live life to the fullest we need only ask ourselves, “Did I abide in Jesus today?” After all, He promises much fruit from those who abide.
