On her knees

So “tomorrow’s post” that I referred to in my last blog has become 4 days later.  I went on retreat with a couple of guys Thursday/ Friday and didn’t have access to internet.  We went to see Father Rock, a retired Catholic Priest whose ministry is to provide a place for men to unplug and process life and faith.  I have known Father Rock for five years.  Each time I go for a visit I am overwhelmed by his love for Jesus and for people.  My journal is always filled with “Rock-isms” every time I leave.  Just a few from this trip: “God cannot be unfaithful, He is bound by love.”  “Every person is deserving of our affection.”  Needless to say, I came back with a better perspective on what is important and how to better move forward in the days ahead.

So back to the “tomorrow’s post”:  Soon after Jairus corners Jesus and implores him to come and heal his daughter, Jesus finds himself in the midst of a large crowd.  The bleeding woman or hemorrhaging woman, whatever we want to call her, had heard about Jesus.  Her first thought was one of belief, “If I can just put my finger on his robe, I can get well.”(Mk5:28)  So she makes her way in, and by in I mean she crawled to Jesus, and does that which she had believed for.  Immediately Jesus felt something and noticed this woman on her knees.  Even He was overwhelmed by this kind of belief, and his statement to her is, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction.” (v.34).
